Overview

Nestled in the heart of Southville City, Cendol BMI Sejak 1985 is a must-visit halal eatery that brings together tradition and a fresh take on classic Malaysian desserts and light meals. Established with a legacy dating back to 1985, this humble spot on Jalan BBLS 2 offers an authentic experience that highlights cendol in its purest and most satisfying form.

The star of the menu, of course, is the cendol. Customers consistently praise its silky, soft texture and freshness. The shaved ice is finely crafted—never overwhelming—paired perfectly with just the right amount of coconut milk and palm sugar. For those who appreciate traditional flavors, the classic cendol with its smooth coconut milk and balanced sweetness stands out as a reliable favorite. The thoughtful addition of a bottle of palm sugar allows patrons to tailor sweetness to their palate, demonstrating the care put into each serving.

Beyond the classic, the variety extends to innovative options like Cendol Durian and Cendol Oreo, offering intriguing twists that respect the dish’s original essence. The Durian version manages to balance richness without overwhelming sweetness, an ideal match for those who prefer nuanced flavors.

The eatery’s modest selection of light meals, such as mee goreng mamu, indomie goreng, and rojak variants, complements the dessert offerings well. While the rojak received mixed reviews on temperature and flavor depth, the mee goreng remains a satisfying choice with its home-cooked feel enhanced by springy noodles and added vegetables.

Ambience-wise, Cendol BMI offers a clean and quiet setting—ideal for a relaxed teatime or a casual catch-up session. The atmosphere is unpretentious, letting the food take center stage. The staff contribute significantly to the warmth of the experience, often described as helpful and friendly, which adds to a welcoming environment for both locals and visitors exploring Bandar Baru Lembah Selatan.

This spot caters especially well to those who cherish authentic Malaysian desserts, with a focus on halal culinary traditions. Its longstanding reputation and consistent quality suggest a strong connection to the community and an understanding of local taste preferences.

In summary, Cendol BMI Sejak 1985 at Southville City is a compelling destination for anyone eager to enjoy well-crafted cendol alongside satisfying local favorites. Whether you are a first-timer or a returning guest, the blend of traditional flavors, genuine hospitality, and unassuming charm makes it a worthwhile addition to your culinary itinerary in Selangor.

5 star given to the CENDOL. It's silky soft & fresh. Shaved Ice size is just nice not too gross, Santan milk & Sugar just fine. Ordered Original without the Red Bean & Jagung that may divert the taste from CENDOL Ice itself. Ramen Cheese though it is Instant Ramen, but it has some mince meat & vegetable added. Noodle still springy. So the outcome is above average home cook. (4 star) Atmosphere since the timing I come is quiet, and it is clean. Not known how it is peak hour. (So not rated)

We came at 2.30pm on weekend and it was a good experience! We ordered mee goreng mamu w telur mata (add rm1.50) and rojak mamu. Also, 1 cendol classic (got jagung and red beans inside) All meals are making us feel satisfied and happy! The cendol itself was smooth and the portion of palm sugar w the coconut milk is just perfect (they provide a bottle of palm sugar just in case u like to add more sweetness) For the rojak, i wish they served it hot cause we got it a bit cold. However, the taste is nice. Overall , its a nice place to enjoy your teatime and experiencing a different teatime vibe . Also i love how the staff treated us there, making us feel warm and good. Would i come again? Yes! Would i recommend this place? Definitely! Price: RM21.20

Ordered Cendol Durian. The taste is good. If you mix it well, actually its not that sweet, if compared with other Cendol Stall. Since i dont like food/drink that is too sweet, this is perfect for me.

Cendol tastes so good, I will come again for the cendol. However I will skip the mee goreng mamu because I don't enjoy the taste and the texture - it's plain sweet and spicy, the noodles were broken and soggy. Atmosphere-wise the music was too loud (9pm), and probably because of this the cashier missed some items, or was misheard when taking our orders, dine-in became takeaway. The other service staff was great. She helped to return our phone that we left in the toilet, and offered toys to our kids. Thank you so much.

Our 1st time dining here. Ordered a Rojak Mamu, a Cendol biasa & a vanilla latte. The rojak's gravy tasted good. Love the rojak! Cendol biasa is not bad & cheap. But the vanilla latte is too sweet for us. The staff were courteous & friendly. Yes, please come here to enjoy your rojak & cendol.

The cendol is good, but probably need to thaw the durian paste a bit before serving with the cendol. So happy that i can have a good cendol fix nearby my house
